I’m pretty sure I have the best job in the world. After earning worldwide acclaim for my beloved thin-crust pizzas, I became known as one of New York City’s finest pizza chefs. I’ve opened restaurants, catered some of the swankiest events, and given lessons to the new generation of pizza innovators.
I recently opened up a cooking school for amateur chefs. We’ve had a good run so far – plenty of students, lots of enthusiasm for pizza – but the venture hasn’t been without mishaps. Luckily, my Covert 2 case has managed to save the day in unexpected ways.
Take last Saturday for example. I was teaching my weekly Pizza Party class, where I invite newbie pizza chefs, crank up the tunes, and let everyone experiment with all kinds of ingredients. The students tend to get really excited about throwing the dough, and on Saturday, they were particularly enthusiastic.
As the chorus of a popular Italian song reached its peak, one of my students tossed his dough high into the air. “Check me out!” he exclaimed as the dough landed perfectly in his hands. Soon, everyone in the class was flinging dough high overhead.
I could see that disaster was about to strike – twenty-five people tossing dough in the air can’t possibly end well, right? – but I didn’t know exactly what to expect. Just as I began to consider asking everyone to be careful, the clumsiest student in the class threw the dough so high that he had to tilt his head back to see it. As the dough came plummeting back down to earth, the klutzy student stumbled backwards and fell right into the countertop where my Galaxy S9+ was placed.
“Mamma mia!” I cried, lurching towards the phone as it fell. But I was too late. The phone clattered to the ground. An errant dough ball plopped down next to it.
The room was silent as I picked up the phone and began to inspect it. To my great surprise and delight, the phone was absolutely unharmed. As I inspected it for physical damage and turned on the screen, I realized that my Covert 2 case had managed to protect my phone from the powerful impact. That shockproof case is no joke!
The students watched me anxiously as I concluded the inspection, then hit “play” on my music app. The cheerful sound of Italian folk music emerged from my speakers. Cheers (and pizza dough) filled the air once again.
